Trump Raises Alarm Over Alleged Russian Nuclear Threat

U.S. President Donald J. Trump has stirred international attention with a fiery tweet alleging that former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev made alarming comments about the potential transfer of nuclear warheads to Iran.
Trump’s remarks, made on his official Truth Social-linked X account, expressed concern over what he called a casual reference to the “N word”—a term he used to mean “Nuclear.”
In the tweet, Trump questioned whether Medvedev truly suggested that Russia and other nations were considering supplying nuclear weapons to Iran, calling on officials or the media to confirm the statement “IMMEDIATELY.”
“Did I hear Former President Medvedev, from Russia, casually throwing around the ‘N word’ (Nuclear!), and saying that he and other Countries would supply Nuclear Warheads to Iran?” Trump wrote. “Did he really say that or, is it just a figment of my imagination?”
The post, written in Trump’s signature rhetorical style, reignites concerns about nuclear proliferation and global tensions involving Russia, Iran, and the United States.
Trump went on to underscore the seriousness of invoking nuclear threats, implying that Medvedev’s alleged remarks reflected the boldness of Russian President Vladimir Putin, whom he referred to as “THE BOSS.”

While no official statement from the Kremlin has confirmed Medvedev’s alleged remarks, Trump’s comments have already drawn attention from defense analysts and international observers, many of whom have noted the serious implications of even speculative discussions about nuclear transfers to Iran.
Beyond the accusation, Trump used the moment to praise the U.S. military, highlighting a recent demonstration of American firepower. He claimed that U.S. nuclear submarines launched 30 Tomahawk missiles over the weekend, all of which “hit their mark perfectly,” though he did not specify the target or operation.
“Far and away the strongest and best equipment we have, 20 years advanced over the pack, is our Nuclear Submarines… the most powerful and lethal weapons ever built,” Trump wrote.
The former president also extended his gratitude to the crew and captain of the submarines, as well as U.S. fighter pilots, suggesting a coordinated military display.
While Trump’s tweet blends elements of praise, paranoia, and posturing, it raises renewed scrutiny on U.S.–Russia relations, nuclear diplomacy, and the always-sensitive subject of Iran’s nuclear ambitions. White House and Pentagon officials have yet to issue a response, but diplomatic channels are expected to be closely monitoring the fallout from the post.
