Trump Administration Ends Kamala Harris’s Secret Service Protection

According to reports, the protection extension initially granted by then-President Joe Biden expired on July 21, marking six months after Harris left office. The Trump administration subsequently ended the arrangement.
Reacting to the development, a senior aide to Harris told AFP that she was “grateful to the United States Secret Service for their professionalism, dedication, and unwavering commitment to safety.”
Although Harris has largely remained out of the spotlight since her election defeat, she is expected to return to the public stage this fall as she embarks on a tour to promote her new book on her unsuccessful presidential bid.
The memoir, titled “107 Days”, will be released in the United States on September 23 by Simon & Schuster. In it, Harris offers what she described as “candor and reflection” while promising a “behind-the-scenes account” of the campaign.
Harris, the first woman to serve as Vice President of the United States, became the Democratic nominee after Biden stepped aside amid questions over his cognitive health.
Since assuming office in January, President Trump has introduced a series of measures targeting critics and former officials. These include revoking security clearances, cutting federal funding to certain universities, and going after law firms tied to previous cases against him.
Just last week, FBI agents carried out a raid on the home and office of former National Security Adviser John Bolton, one of Trump’s most vocal opponents, in what authorities said was an investigation linked to classified documents.
