Tragedy in Anambra: 3 siblings found dead in deep freezer

The people of Nnewichi, Nnewi North Local Government Area, Anambra State, have been thrown into mourning following the shocking discovery of three siblings found dead inside a deep freezer at their home.
The deceased children, identified as Chikaima (9), Chimziterem (7), and Chimdilim (5), were allegedly attacked by unknown assailants while their mother, Mrs. Chikazor Ejezie, a lecturer and nurse, was away for an examination.
According to sources, Mrs. Ejezie returned home to find the door wide open, which was unusual, as her children always secured it when alone. After searching in vain, she and others opened the deep freezer and discovered the lifeless bodies of the three children.
The children’s father, Mr. Udobi Ejezie, who is based in Irrua, Edo State, recounted that traces of unfinished meals suggested they were attacked while eating at about noon. The house, a bungalow with two tenants and a landlord, showed no signs of forced entry.
The Anambra State Police Command has launched an investigation into the incident. Confirming the case, the Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that Commissioner of Police Nnaghe Itam had ordered a full-scale investigation, with the case now transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).
The bodies of the deceased have been deposited in a morgue, while authorities continue efforts to unravel the circumstances surrounding the gruesome deaths.
