Tiwa Savage Reflects On Sex Tape Scandal And Losing Her Father

Tiwa Savage has reflected on the turbulent period following the 2021 leak of her sex tape, which she revealed came after a blackmail attempt, saying it was the lowest point of her career.
Speaking in a recent YouTube interview with British media personality Zeze Mills, the Afrobeats star said the scandal coincided with the death of her father, making the period especially devastating.
“My dad died and my sex tape was released. The only way I could have survived was not to think about it,” she said.
Savage, 45, added that she is grateful for the chance to share her story and connect with people despite the incident. “Being here on the couch with you is such a blessing. Just the fact that you even want to talk to me, people want to hear what I want to say after how many years. It feels good. I’ve gone through so much, but have I really enjoyed the moment?”
