Tiwa Savage Hints Retiring from Music

Tiwa Savage, one of Africa’s biggest Afrobeat stars, has suggested she might step away from music. In a recent Instagram story, the singer revealed that her next studio album could be her last, citing exhaustion.
“This might be my last studio album. I’m tired. I don try,” she wrote.
Tiwa Savage has had an impressive career, solidifying her position as one of Africa’s most celebrated female artists. Last year, she made history as the first African artist to perform at the coronation of a British monarch. Her performance at King Charles III’s coronation earned praise and filled Nigerians with pride.
Reflecting on the historic moment, Tiwa mentioned she looks forward to telling her son, Jamil, about it one day.
In recent months, Tiwa stirred conversations after declaring herself part of the “Big 3” of Afrobeat music. She confidently stated in an interview that if judged purely on talent and performance, she would be considered “the big one.”
Known for her collaborations, Tiwa has often shown support for other female artists. Earlier this year, she addressed critics who claimed she doesn’t promote women in the industry. Responding on Instagram, Tiwa highlighted her numerous collaborations with artists like Waje, Ayra Starr, Simi, Becca, and Amaarae, emphasizing her commitment to uplifting others.
