President Bola Tinubu on Monday rolled out grand rewards for the triumphant Super Falcons following their stunning victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

Hosting the 10-time African champions at the State House in Abuja, Tinubu awarded each of the 24 players the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), a brand new three-bedroom house, and a $100,000 cash prize.

Members of the technical crew were also rewarded with $50,000 each in recognition of their role in the Falcons’ dramatic comeback win over host nation Morocco, where Nigeria overturned a two-goal deficit to seal a 3-2 victory and complete their #MissionX.

“The Super Falcons have lifted the spirit of our nation and proven, once again, that Nigeria is unstoppable when we stand united,” Tinubu declared. “Your resilience, skill and teamwork have brought honour to our country and inspired a new generation of young Nigerians.”
