Tinubu mourns Lt Gen Jeremiah Useni

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has mourned the passing of Lieutenant General Jeremiah Useni, a former minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lieutenant General Jeremiah Useni died on Thursday following a protracted illness at the age of 81.

The President extended his condolences to the family of the deceased, the army, political associates, and the people of Plateau State.

President Tinubu described Late Lieutenant General Useni as a hardworking and dedicated officer who, throughout his military career, inspired many young officers to place national interest above their gains.

According to the President, the late Jeremiah Useni distinguished himself during his career by making important changes in politics while serving as Deputy National Chairman of the App Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and a senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District.

Lt. Gen. Useni had a storied career in the Nigerian Army, where he served with distinction for decades. He rose to the rank of Quartermaster General, overseeing the logistical and material needs of the Armed Forces.

His dedication and leadership during his time in the military earned him widespread respect among his colleagues and superiors.
