Tinubu Inaugurates NNPCL Board and Management Seven Weeks After Appointment

President Bola Tinubu has officially inaugurated the newly appointed board and management team of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), formally swearing them in on Thursday, May 22, 2025—seven weeks after their initial appointment on April 2.
The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja, was a brief but significant event, presided over by the President himself. The occasion marked the formal induction of Ahmadu Kida as the Non-Executive Chairman of the NNPCL Board, alongside Bashir Ojulari, the Group Chief Executive Officer, and other key board members.
Following the event, President Tinubu departed to attend the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Summit at the State House Banquet Hall.
The newly constituted 11-member NNPCL board reflects a broad national representation, with members drawn from all six geopolitical zones as well as key federal ministries.

- Lydia Jafiya – Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance
- Aminu Ahmed – Representative, Ministry of Petroleum Resources
The ceremony was attended by top government officials, including Minister of Finance Wale Edun, Minister of Information Mohammed Idris, and Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Heineken Lokpobiri.
