Tinubu Appoints Idris Olorunnimbe Chairman Of NCC, Approves USPF Board

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has inaugurated the boards of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF), appointing Idris Olorunnimbe as Chairman of the NCC.
Both agencies operate under the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy.
Dr. Aminu Wada remains the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the NCC.
The announcement was made in a statement by Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga on Tuesday.
Dr. Wada was appointed to his current role in October 2023 and confirmed by the Senate in November of the same year.
Before his appointment as NCC Chairman, Mr. Olorunnimbe served on the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) Board, where he led the Stakeholder and Governance Committee and championed youth employment and entrepreneurship initiatives.
The NCC board members include:
- Abraham Oshidami – Executive Commissioner, Technical Services
- Rimini Makama – Executive Commissioner, Stakeholder Management
- Hajia Maryam Bayi – Former Director, Human Capital & Administration
- Col Abdulwahab Lawal (Rtd)
- Senator Lekan Mustafa
- Chris Okorie
- Princess Oforitsenere Emiko
- Secretary of the Board
Additionally, President Tinubu approved the board for the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF), chaired by Dr. Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy.
Other members of the USPF board are:

- Aliyu Edogi Aliyu – Representative, Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy (FMCIDE)
