Tinubu Appoints Former Nasarawa Governor Al-Makura As UBEC Governing Board Chairman

President Bola Tinubu has appointed former Nasarawa State governor, Tanko Umaru Al-Makura, as the new Chairman of the Governing Board of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC).
The announcement was made on Tuesday by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, during the launch of an ICT Development Project supported by AFD in 10 selected Nigerian universities.
Al-Makura, a seasoned politician and businessman, is widely recognized for initiating numerous developmental projects during his time as governor.
UBEC, which operates under the Federal Ministry of Education, plays a key role in disbursing counterpart funding to support basic education across the country.
