TikToker Peller Alleges Assault by Lagos Police Officer During Routine Stop in Lekki

TikTok content creator Peller has posted a disturbing video on Instagram, alleging he was assaulted by a police officer during a routine stop in Lekki on Thursday night.
According to Peller, he was returning from Ikorodu when officers stopped his vehicle and instructed him to open the boot. While complying, he began recording the interaction on his phone for safety. Moments later, one of the officers allegedly punched him in the face.
Other officers at the scene reportedly intervened and scolded the officer responsible for the assault.
Narrating the incident, Peller wrote: “I was coming back from Ikorodu and this happened in Lekki. The policeman said we should open the boot and we did. Next thing, everybody came down for searching. I brought out my phone just in case anything happened, and then he punched me in the face. The other officers started saying he didn’t know it was me. So this is how you treat random people?”
The video has sparked concern among his followers, with many demanding accountability from the police.
