TikTok Skit Maker Tsulange Remanded in Kano Over Alleged Public Indecency

A magistrate court in the Nomansland area of Kano has ordered the remand of TikTok personality Umar Hisham Fagge, popularly known as Tsulange, over alleged acts of public indecency and behavior deemed offensive to moral and religious values.
Presiding Magistrate Hadiza Muhammad Hassan ruled that Tsulange be held in a correctional facility until July 3, 2025, pending further investigations.
He was arraigned by the Kano State Censorship Board after being arrested for filming a comedy skit in which he appeared bathing on a public road while wearing women’s underwear.
In a statement, the board’s spokesperson Abdullahi Sani Sulaiman described the video as not only indecent but also a violation of the state’s cultural and Islamic values. The board condemned the act as part of a disturbing rise in inappropriate social media content in Kano.
The statement added that the board will continue to monitor and prosecute individuals or content creators promoting what it termed “disruptive entertainment disguised as humor.”
