Thomas Partey Granted Bail Under Conditions Amid Rape and Assault Charges

Ghanaian international and Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been granted conditional bail after appearing before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, in connection with multiple serious sexual offence charges.
Partey, who was formally charged on July 5 with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, arrived in court wearing a black zip-neck jumper and carrying a navy blazer. During the preliminary hearing, he stood in the dock with his arms behind his back as the charges were read.
The alleged offences, according to the Metropolitan Police, took place between 2021 and 2022 and involve three women. Two rape charges are linked to one woman, another three involve a second woman, while the sexual assault charge pertains to a third.
Following deliberations, the judge granted bail under strict conditions. The case is expected to proceed to further hearings in the coming months.
