Teju Babyface Unveils Tribute Plans for Late Filmmaker Kayode Peters

Comedian Teju Babyface has announced a series of memorial events in honor of his late friend and collaborator, Kayode Peters, who passed away on June 28, 2025.
Two Nights of Tributes and Services of Songs have been scheduled to celebrate the life and legacy of the respected filmmaker and actor: one in Lagos on July 22, and another in London on July 29. A final burial service will take place in Toronto, Canada, on August 2.

In his emotional caption, Teju wrote:
“With hearts heavy with profound sadness, we share the initial plans for the interment of our beloved friend and brother, Kayode Peters Adewunmi. Further details will follow shortly.

“Ọdún a jí’na sí’ra wọn. May our days be long.”
Peters, who marked his 14th wedding anniversary shortly before his passing, leaves behind a legacy in Nigerian film and theatre that touched many. These tribute events aim to celebrate not only his talent but also the lasting impact he had on those who knew and worked with him.
