Taraba Deputy Governor Aminu Alkali Returns To Jalingo After Eight-Month Absence

Deputy Governor of Taraba State, Alhaji Aminu Alkali, has quietly returned to Jalingo, the state capital, following a prolonged absence from public view.
Although no official announcement has been made, a short video clip of Alkali’s return has surfaced on social media. Sources told Daily Trust that he arrived via Yalo Airport from Abuja and was driven in a convoy of four vehicles to his official residence at Government House.
Alkali, who has reportedly been battling an undisclosed ailment, was last seen in office about eight months ago. An official in his office, who asked not to be named, confirmed the deputy governor briefly visited his office on arrival.
“It is today that I was told the Deputy Governor returned to Jalingo unannounced. I did not see him personally, but I was informed he entered his office briefly and met with some senior officers,” the source said.
The deputy governor currently has no press secretary, and Chief Press Secretary to Governor Agbu Kefas, Yusuf Sanda, stated he has not received any formal communication about Alkali’s return.
