Super Falcons Visit Presidential Villa After WAFCON Victory

Nigeria’s senior women’s football team, the Super Falcons, paid a courtesy visit to the Presidential Villa in Abuja following their triumphant outing at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The team arrived at the forecourt of the Villa at about 4:40 p.m. on Monday, travelling in a convoy of three white coaster buses. The visit forms part of a lineup of official engagements and celebrations organised to honour the Falcons for their outstanding performance on the continental stage.
The Super Falcons stunned the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco in a thrilling final on Saturday, coming from two goals down in the first half to clinch the WAFCON title. Their dramatic comeback win has been widely hailed across the country, with fans, stakeholders, and political figures praising their resilience, skill, and unyielding spirit.
“The visit to the Presidential Villa is part of a series of celebrations and official engagements lined up to honour the team for their performance, which has once again brought pride and happiness to the nation,” officials said.
Their victory has sparked celebrations nationwide, reinforcing the Falcons’ status as Africa’s most successful women’s football team and national icons of inspiration.
