Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has disclosed that neither she nor her teammates have received the $100,000 reward and other promises made by the Federal Government following their 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) triumph in Morocco.

The government had hosted the team in celebration of their victory, pledging $100,000 to each player alongside a three-bedroom apartment.

In an interview with Chude Jideonwo, Ajibade voiced her frustration over the delay. When asked if the $100,000 had been delivered, she replied, “We have not received our money, but hopefully, it would be paid. They have not paid, all the promises, we have not received anything.”

Ajibade led the Super Falcons to their record-extending WAFCON title in Morocco. Following the win, President Bola Tinubu awarded national honours, Officer of the Order of Niger (OON), to the team and their technical crew, alongside the promised cash and property rewards.
