Sonia Ighalo Slams Nigerians Celebrating Buhari’s Death, Urges Empathy Over Hatred

Sonia Ighalo, the ex-wife of footballer Jude Ighalo, has voiced her disapproval of Nigerians who are celebrating the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a post shared on Instagram, Sonia urged people to show empathy, noting that regardless of political views, Buhari was still a father, husband, uncle, and son to many.
She acknowledged that criticisms of his leadership were understandable but stressed that rejoicing over his death reflected a lack of humanity.
“Nigerians seem to lack empathy. This is someone’s father, husband, uncle, and son. Must you all display your caprine tendencies even in times of loss?” she wrote.
“While criticisms of his leadership are valid, celebrating his death misses our shared humanity. Death is the final chapter we all must face, and in that reality, empathy should always prevail.”
