Sokoto Governor Urges Newly Posted Security Chiefs to Strengthen Fight Against Banditry

Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has urged newly posted security chiefs to intensify efforts in tackling banditry in the state. He made the call yesterday , 2nd of February, 2025 while receiving them at Government House, Sokoto.
The governor explained the need for renewed commitment, citing the progress made in the fight against insecurity. He urged them to build on the achievements of their predecessors and work diligently to ensure the state remains safe.
Aliyu assured the officers of his administration’s full support to enhance their effectiveness. He described Sokoto residents as peaceful and encouraged the security chiefs to collaborate with them for successful operations.
Despite a decade-long security crisis, the governor noted that Sokoto remains a state known for peace and hospitality. He commended the security agencies for their past efforts and urged them to sustain their commitment.
The newly posted officers include Brig.-Gen. A.J. Mohammed, Capt. U.S. Maibuhu, Lawal Idris, Usman Ishaq Alfadarai, Ali Usman, and Yusuf Musa Bage. They pledged to support the government’s security efforts and enhance safety across the state.
In their remarks, the officers praised Gov. Aliyu for his proactive approach to security and development. They assured him of their commitment to working closely with the government to maintain peace and order.
