Skales Shuts Down False Tweet About His Marriage

Nigerian singer Skales has publicly refuted a viral tweet that falsely attributed controversial remarks to him about his marriage.
The tweet, posted by an X (formerly Twitter) user, claimed that Skales said:
“I divorced my wife because of a comment she made on my post and I don’t regret it. When my wife made the comment on my post, I got angry. People cannot be mocking your husband’s music career — the music that is paying your bills — and you join them.”
In a swift response, Skales took to social media to debunk the claim, writing:
“This is really evil of you that you would cook up such story and this is not fair. I have never made such statement and this is false… please stop spreading lies.”
The false narrative stirred reactions online, resurfacing memories of Skales’ past issues with his wife. In 2022, the singer had called her out in a diss track shortly after his mother’s death but later issued a public apology. The couple eventually reconciled and welcomed their first child in March 2023.
Skales’ firm denial highlights his effort to protect his family’s privacy and push back against the spread of misinformation.
