SEPA Urges Ndigbo to Rally Behind Tinubu’s 2027 Re-Election Bid

A coalition of young professionals from the South East, under the banner of South East Progressive Ambassadors (SEPA), has called on Ndigbo to throw their weight behind the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement jointly signed by SEPA’s Convener, Mr. John CDO Ikeotuonye, and Secretary, Dr. Justin Ogoo Nwankwo, the group warned that failing to support President Tinubu would place the South East at a strategic disadvantage in the national political landscape.
SEPA expressed optimism that the people of the South East are increasingly embracing the president’s Renewed Hope Agenda, recognizing the value of forging alliances rather than engaging in opposition. According to the group, Tinubu’s vision for Nigeria is beginning to resonate across the region, with growing support expected to translate into overwhelming votes in 2027.
“The 2027 election presents a defining opportunity for the South East to claim its rightful place in Nigeria’s strategic and geopolitical future,” the statement read. “The wisest course for Ndigbo is to fully align with the Renewed Hope Agenda championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
SEPA credited the president for his boldness in confronting governance challenges, including the diversion and delayed remittance of public funds by state governments. The group also applauded his efforts to improve local government accountability and spur grassroots development.
The statement called on South East professionals and progressive-minded youths to unite and engage actively in nation-building rather than remaining on the political sidelines.
“We urge young visionaries across the South East to rise above the politics of the past. Now is the time to join hands with President Tinubu to reintegrate, reconcile, and reconstruct the region. The South East must not be caught unprepared in 2027,” the group emphasized.
SEPA also pointed to tangible actions taken by the Tinubu administration that indicate a commitment to addressing the concerns of the region. These include the establishment of the South East Development Commission (SEDC), the appointment of a Special Adviser on Community Liaison for South East states, key federal appointments for Igbo sons and daughters, and recent high-level visits to all states in the region.
“In view of these developments, we are convinced that President Tinubu possesses both the vision and the political will to keep his promises to Nigerians. We believe he is capable of restructuring and restoring Nigeria to the path of sustainable growth and unity,” SEPA concluded.
