Sanwo-Olu Commissions Four Road Projects in Oriade, Amuwo Odofin

The Lagos State Governor , Babajide Sanwo-Olu has commissioned four newly completed road projects in Oriade town, Amuwo Odofin, today, 28th of January, 2025.
These include the reconstructed Old Ojo Road and upgraded Mumuni Adio, Irede, and Navy Town roads. The reconstructed Old Ojo Road now offers commuters a faster alternative along the Lagos-Badagry corridor.
Divided into two phases, the first 4-kilometer stretch from Irede Road to Oluti Bus Stop is complete. The second phase, covering 3.65 kilometers is expected to be delivered in the next quarter of the year.
Irede Road has been expanded and dualised to enhance access to the Lagos-Badagry Expressway. It also connects residents to Irede Jetty, providing vital links to riverine communities such as Ibasa, Ibeshe, Ilashe, and Imoore.
The roads were upgraded using Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement, known for durability and resilience. This approach ensures the roads can handle heavy traffic, including access to tank farms, industrial establishments, and jetties in the Ijegun Egba area.
The Governor stated the importance of protecting and maintaining these infrastructures. He appealed to residents, drivers, traders, and unions to adopt a zero-tolerance policy toward vandalism and abuse, ensuring the projects serve the community for decades.
He also announced plans to commission additional projects in Alimosho, Eti Osa, and other areas soon.
