Sanwo-Olu Charges 2,909 Corps Members to Serve Lagos with Humanity

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu, has called on 2,909 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members (Corp Members) comprising 1,528 males and 1,381 females deployed to Lagos for the 2025 Batch A stream 1 Orientation Course to serve with humanity.
Govenor Sanwo-Olu, represented by Mr Ibukun Dosunmu, Director, General Services, Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development gave the charge at the Swearing-in Ceremony held at NYSC Lagos Orientation Camp, Iyana-Ipaja on Friday .

“On behalf of the government and good people of Lagos State, I welcome you all to the “Land flowing with milk and honey.” I must congratulate you for the acquisition of your academic honours, which has qualified you for national service”
“The life of service is not an easy path, it is an humanitarian life”
He emphasized that the life of service requires dedication and sacrifice, urging the corps members to make a positive impact in their communities.
“I want to urge you to make an enduring difference in your community while in service. As you all know, no good deed goes unrewarded. If no king in this earth sees your good deeds, posterity will not forget you”
The governor encouraged the corps members to contribute to the state’s development by implementing the Lagos State Government’s T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda.
“It is in this line I want to encourage you to toe the paths of humanity by helping in implementing Lagos State Government T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda for the State”
He assured them that the state government would reward those who distinguish themselves in service, noting that good deeds would be remembered by posterity.
“Meanwhile, as always, the Lagos State Government will reward corps members who distinguish themselves in service”
Sanwo-Olu also assured the corps members of the state’s commitment to their security, stating that the safety of lives and properties remains a top priority of the government.
“On our part, the State government will continue to provide the enabling environment for you to discharge your duties and serve the nation diligently”
“I want to assure you that security of lives and properties of all citizens in our dear State remains the topmost priority of this government. We will continue to rely more expediently on our security apparatus to ensure the safety of all corps members in the State” he added.
He urged the corps members to take the Orientation Course seriously, as it would prepare them for the challenges of the service year and beyond.
The governor appreciated the State Coordinator and her team for the successful launch of the course and declared the 2025 Batch A Stream 1 Orientation Course in Lagos State open, wishing the corps members a fruitful and fulfilling service year ahead.
” I wish to sincerely appreciate the State Coordinator and her team for the successful take-off of this Course. I also want to appreciate the Chief Judge for carrying out this national assignment with dignity notable of the judiciary”
“on behalf of the government and amiable people of Lagos State, I wish you all a fruitful Course and a most fulfilling service year ahead”
Salmwang Charges Corps Members on Core Value
In her welcome speech , state coordinator, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Lagos State, Mrs. Salmwang has called on Corp Members to fully embrace the scheme’s core values.

“I therefore urge you to quickly key into the core values of the scheme aimed at preparing you for leadership positions that will make you a role model for upcoming youths, you should therefore be committed to all camp activities, rules and regulations”
The corps members, comprising 1,528 males and 1,381 females, were encouraged to prepare themselves for leadership roles.
Special considerations were given to pregnant women, nursing mothers, and those with critical health conditions, who were exempted from strenuous activities.
Mrs. Salmwang expressed appreciation to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his support to the scheme, including the provision of a site for a permanent orientation camp.
“I wish to deeply appreciate our exceptionally dynamic and youth friendly Governor, Mr Babajide Olushola Sanwoolu, I commend you sir for the love you have always demonstrated towards the scheme especially in the provision of a site for the construction of a befitting permanent orientation camp at Ikorodu, may God Almighty continue to strengthen you sir”
She also thanked the Governing Board and collaborating agencies for their contributions to the successful launch of the orientation exercise.
“To our amiable chairman, NYSC Lagos State Governing Board and Honorable Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Relations and all members of the Governing Board we say a big thank you for piloting the scheme in the right direction in Lagos State”
The oath of allegiance to the 2025 Batch A stream 1 Corp Members was administered by the Chief Judge of Lagos State, who was represented by Hon. Justice Balogun Mosunmola
