Sam Larry Breaks Silence On Mohbad’s Death, Denies Assault In Viral Video

Controversial Nigerian show promoter, Sam Larry, has finally addressed the allegations linking him to events surrounding the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
In a tell-all interview with social media activist Verydarkman, Sam Larry broke his silence nearly two years after a viral video resurfaced following Mohbad’s passing, drawing public outrage and accusations of harassment.
The clip in question showed Sam Larry confronting Mohbad at a beach, an incident many interpreted as intimidation. But speaking during the interview, Sam Larry insisted the encounter was misunderstood.
“That video was just 9 seconds. I was with my son at the beach. When I saw Mohbad, I walked up to him and demanded a refund for a show he didn’t show up for,” he explained. “Zlatan was there and quickly stepped in to resolve it. There was no assault.”
When pressed on why rapper Zlatan Ibile has never publicly stated that no harm was done during the incident, Sam Larry claimed Zlatan was warned to avoid getting involved.
“Zlatan say if hin talk, say blood go comot for hin mouth,” he alleged.
Sam Larry also dismissed rumors that he fled the country after Mohbad’s death in September 2023, stating he was in Dubai at the time, while his associate Naira Marley was in Amsterdam.
The interview marks Sam Larry’s first in-depth public response since Mohbad’s tragic death, which triggered protests, calls for justice, and widespread speculation about the people in the late singer’s inner circle.
