Salmwang Calls For Unity and Discipline Ahead of 2025 Batch A Stream II Orientation Exercise

As preparations intensify for the 2025 Batch “A” Stream II Orientation Course set to begin nationwide on June 11, the Lagos State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs. Christiana Salmwang, has emphasized the importance of unity, discipline, and inter-agency collaboration.
Mrs. Salmwang made the appeal during a pre-orientation briefing with collaborating agencies and heads of assignment held at the NYSC Lagos Secretariat.
She commended stakeholders for their contributions to the successful execution of the previous orientation programme, stressing that the milestone was achieved through collective effort and shared responsibility.

Reiterating the importance of adherence to camp protocols, she called on all personnel to uphold discipline and ensure effective coordination throughout the exercise. She also urged officials to receive incoming corps members warmly and treat them with empathy and respect, adding that a supportive environment was crucial to the success of the programme.
In her remarks, the Camp Director, Mrs. Oluwayemisi Davidson, echoed the call for unity and cooperation, encouraging all officials to see themselves as members of a single, purpose-driven family working towards a common objective.
Also addressing the gathering, the Camp Commandant, Captain A.A. Zarumi, pledged the continued support of military personnel in maintaining order and discipline at the camp. He appealed to all camp officials to offer their full cooperation for the smooth running of the orientation course.
Later, during a general meeting with NYSC staff, Mrs. Salmwang revisited expectations for the upcoming exercise and once again expressed appreciation for the dedication shown during past programmes.

She urged all personnel to maintain synergy, adopt a spirit of forgiveness, and remain focused on achieving a seamless orientation experience, noting that occasional misunderstandings were part of working in a dynamic team.
In a symbolic gesture to set the tone for the forthcoming orientation, Mrs. Davidson unveiled the new slogan for the 2025 Batch “A” Stream II Orientation Course:
“There is Victory in Unity; Unity in Victory.”
The slogan, she said, reflects the spirit of togetherness that will be vital in delivering a successful orientation programme.
