Salmwang Assumes Office as New Lagos NYSC Coordinator

In a formal handing-over ceremony held at the conference room of the NYSC Lagos State Secretariat, Mrs. Christiana Salmwang officially assumed her duties as the new State Coordinator.
following a recent change in leadership that elevated
the outgoing State Coordinator, Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa, as the Acting Director, General Services, at the NYSC Directorate Headquarters.
Giving her remark, Mrs. Baderinwa reflected on her time in Lagos, recounting how she initially doubted her ability to fill the shoes of her predecessor when she took office in 2022.
She said however, with the unwavering support of dedicated staff, she was able to achieve remarkable success. “I wouldn’t have come this far without the support of the goal-getters and hardworking staff,” she said, advising Mrs. Salmwang to trust and rely on the team for continued success.
She also expressed her deep appreciation to the staff for making her tenure in Lagos a smooth one and encouraged them to extend the same level of cooperation to her successor.
Describing Mrs. Salmwang as a “smart, calm, good listener and seasoned administrator,” Mrs. Baderinwa urged the staff to give her their full support so she can build on the foundation already laid.
In her response, Mrs. Salmwang thanked her predecessor for the exemplary work she did during her tenure and for setting a solid example for all in NYSC Lagos.
She expressed her gratitude to God for the opportunity to lead and pledged to carry everyone along by maintaining an open-door policy. “I will rely on the unalloyed support of the staff to improve on the significant achievements of my predecessor,” she noted.
Mrs. Salmwang also extended her best wishes to Mrs. Baderinwa in her new role at the Directorate Headquarters, praying for her continued success.
A seasoned administrator, Mrs. Christiana Salmwang hails from Plateau State and has served in various capacities at the NYSC Kaduna Secretariat, NYSC Plateau, and the National Directorate Headquarters, Abuja.
With her assumption of office,she has become the 23rd State Chief Executive to administer the NYSC Lagos Secretariat since its inception.
