Ribadu Announces Arrest of Two Leaders of Ansaru Terrorist Group
National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, has announced the arrest of two senior leaders of the Ansaru terrorist group.
At a press briefing on recent security developments held at the Office of the National Security Adviser, Ribadu identified those arrested as Abu Baraa, the Amir, and Mahmuda, the deputy Amir.
He said the two men were behind several terrorist operations in Nigeria, including high-profile kidnappings that have targeted civilians and security personnel.
In attendance at the briefing were the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Army Staff, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Minister of Information and National Orientation.
