Reps summon Labour Minister over failure to constitute board

The House of Representatives Committee on Public Petitions has summoned the Minister of Labour and Employment, Muhammadu Dingyadi, over his failure to inaugurate the board of Nigerian Social Insurance Trust Fund.
The summon of the Minister to appear before the House committee followed a Petition by a non governmental organization, Obasi-Pherson Help Foundation.
The foundation in the petition complained that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had appointed the Managing Director of the Fund but was yet to be inaugurate several months after.
Reacting to the petition, the committee chairman, Mike Etaba enjoined the Minister to appear in person to answer to the petition.
According to Mr. Etaba, government is being indicted, and it is only logical that the Minister clears the air on the matter raised by the petitioners.
The committee has also invited the Managing Director of the Nigerian Social Insurance Trust Fund, NSITF, Faleye Mayomi to appear before it on the strength of a petition against the agency for suspected violation of its projects clearance regulations.
