President Tinubu Returns To Abuja After Attending Pope Leo XIV’s Inauguration At The Vatican

President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after attending the inauguration of Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican in Rome.
He arrived on Tuesday evening at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, where he was received by dignitaries including the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; and APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje.
During his historic visit to Rome, Tinubu joined Catholic leaders and faithful from around the world at the installation Mass for Pope Leo XIV. He also hosted members of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria, who were part of his delegation.
Speaking during the visit, the President emphasized the importance of embracing Nigeria’s diversity for national growth and stability.
“If we use our diversity not for adversity but for prosperity, the country’s hope is stability and progress,” Tinubu stated.

Archbishop Lucius Ugorji, President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria, expressed gratitude to the President for enabling their presence at the Vatican. He described the moment as a new chapter in the Church’s relationship with the Nigerian government.
“You are always there for us. Now that you have come to the Vatican, whenever we have our conference in Nigeria, we will also invite you,” Archbishop Ugorji said.
