Presidency Counters Kwankwaso, Says Tinubu Has Not Neglected the North

The Presidency has firmly dismissed recent accusations by former Kano Governor and NNPP presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, that President Bola Tinubu is prioritizing federal projects in the South while neglecting the North.
In a post on his verified X account, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, said Kwankwaso’s claims were false and misleading.
“Senator Kwankwaso, you are wrong. The North is not neglected. President Tinubu has the North covered,” Dare stated, sharing a long list of federal projects ongoing and completed in Northern Nigeria across sectors like infrastructure, health, agriculture, education, and energy.
Some of the highlighted projects include the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano expressway, the Sokoto-Zamfara-Katsina expressway, and various segments of the Sokoto-Badagry superhighway. Other key roadworks are ongoing in towns such as Zaria, Gaya, Maiduguri, Gusau, Lafia, Sokoto, and Funtua.
In agriculture, Dare noted the $158 million Agricultural Value Chain Programme covering nine northern states, as well as the Kolmani Integrated Development Project in Bauchi and Gombe, and the World Bank-supported ACReSAL initiative focused on boosting climate resilience in semi-arid regions.
He also pointed to the revitalized Kano River Irrigation Project, commissioned in 2023 and now fully functional under the Tinubu-led government.
