Police Cracks Down On Kidnappers In Imo, Arrest 5 Suspects

The Nigeria Police Force in its fight against kidnapping in Imo State, with the arrest of five suspects linked to kidnappings in Obinze, Avu, and Ihiagwa.
According to Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the suspects were arrested on August 21, 2024, in Avu, Imo State.

They were identified as Umaru Usman, 40, from Mauree in Sokoto; Tukur Yau, 25, from Dawakinkudur in Kano State; Musbau Sabo, 18, from Warsaw LGA in Kano State; Abdul Ibrahim, 30, from Sokoto State; and Jubrin Idris, 35, from Sokoto State.
The police also rescued a pistol, two rounds of live ammunition, and torchlights from one of the suspects, Nwauba Alex, who was arrested while attempting to rob two residents at gunpoint near Aladinma Primary School, Owerri.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD., NPM., has reaffirmed the police’s commitment to combating kidnapping and other heinous crimes, with the emplacement of both proactive and reactive measures aimed at tackling these crimes.
