Police Arrest Three Girls Over Assault Of Bayelsa University Student In Viral Video

The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested three young women seen in a viral video assaulting and humiliating a student of the Federal University, Otuoke, identified as Nancy Wilfred.
The incident, which took place in Yenagoa, showed the victim being beaten, stripped naked, and filmed by the suspects. In the footage, the attackers slapped, kicked, and punched her repeatedly before cutting off her braids with a sharp object. The assault was reportedly triggered by allegations that Nancy was involved with the boyfriend of one of the girls.
Following widespread outrage, police operatives launched a manhunt and apprehended the suspects on charges including assault, attempted murder, grievous harm, cyberbullying, cyberstalking, and abduction.
The Commissioner of Police ordered a full-scale investigation and held an initial interactive session with the victim, which later expanded to consultations with community-based and gender-rights groups.
It was gathered that operatives of Zone 16, with support from FOU security, arrested the prime suspect identified as Kadi, whose confession led to the capture of the other two accomplices.
Police confirmed the suspects are in custody and undergoing interrogation before being arraigned in court. The command assured the public of its commitment to ensuring justice and safeguarding law and order in the state.
