Peter Obi Visits El-Rufai Amid Coalition Talks To Unseat Tinubu In 2027

Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, paid a visit to former Kaduna State governor and ex-FCT Minister, Nasir El-Rufai, at his Abuja residence on Friday, July 25.
Although the purpose of the meeting remains undisclosed, both men have recently become key figures in the growing coalition aiming to unseat President Bola Tinubu and the APC government ahead of the 2027 elections.
El-Rufai, who defected from the APC to the Social Democratic Party (SDP), later moved to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) — joining other prominent defectors from the ruling party and various opposition blocs.
Obi, meanwhile, has remained with the Labour Party and has repeatedly signaled his intention to run for president again in 2027.
