Peter Obi Mourns Buhari: “A Moment of National Reflection and Sorrow”

Presidential candidate and former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died in London on Sunday.

In a condolence message, Obi described the news as heartbreaking and a moment of solemn reflection for the entire nation.

“I have just received the very sad news of the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari in London. His death provides a solemn moment, not just for his family and close associates, but for our nation as a whole.”

He acknowledged Buhari’s composure and dignity throughout his time in leadership, saying:

“President Buhari always comported himself in a dignified manner as a leader.”

Obi extended his heartfelt condolences to the late president’s wife, Aisha Buhari, his children, the wider family, and Nigerians across the country.

“To his wife, children, extended family, and to all Nigerians, I extend my deepest condolences.”

He concluded with prayers for the late president’s eternal rest:
