Peter Obi Donates ₦15 Million To Nursing And Quranic Schools In Bauchi

Former Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has donated ₦15 million to two educational institutions in Bauchi State — Malikiya College of Nursing Sciences and Intisharu Taufizul Quranic School — during a visit on Friday.
Obi gave ₦10 million to the nursing college and ₦5 million to the Quranic school, reaffirming his commitment to social development across Nigeria.
Addressing students and staff at Malikiya College of Nursing Sciences, the former Anambra State governor stressed the crucial role nurses play in the nation’s healthcare system.

“You are very important to the society, you are very important to this country called Nigeria. If there is anything we can do to support what you are doing, we need to do it. The number one measure of success of any nation is health, and you can’t measure health without thinking of the human infrastructure.

The nurse is important. The nurse knows the patient, owns the patient, the nurse is everything,” Obi said.
He also disclosed that he visits and donates to over 70 nursing schools nationwide every year as part of his ongoing support for the health sector.
Proprietors of both schools, Aminu Danmaliki and Alhaji Usman Abubakar, expressed deep appreciation for Obi’s gesture, assuring that the funds would be properly utilised to enhance the quality of education and facilities in their institutions.
