Pete Edochie Says Igbo Men Struggle In Politics Due To Zero Tolerance For Treachery

Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has said that Igbo men face challenges in politics because they are not naturally wired for it.

In a recent interview with Afia TV, Edochie explained that the political landscape is often filled with treachery, something the average Igbo man is unwilling to tolerate. According to him, this intolerance for betrayal makes it difficult for Igbo politicians to maintain long-term alliances.

“An Igbo man is not a good politician. And I will tell you why. People who are used to politics or the treachery that characterises politics can overlook a lot of things,” Edochie said.

“But the Igbo man is not constituted to condone treachery a second time. If you hurt the Igbo man once in politics, he will never give you an opportunity to hurt him again. He will recoil. That’s the average Igbo man.”

He added, “The Igbo man is really not constituted to sustain political treachery. The moment you exhibit treachery in your involvement with an Igbo man, they cut you off. That’s it.”
