PDP Governorship Candidate Jude Ezenwafor Shot by Unknown Gunmen in Abuja

Jude Ezenwafor, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the November 8, 2025, Anambra governorship election, has been shot by unknown assailants in Abuja.
The attack reportedly occurred late Friday night near Wuse 2 as Ezenwafor was returning home from an appointment. Sources say he sustained multiple gunshot wounds and is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital, where doctors are preparing to remove bullets lodged in his body.
Ezenwafor, an Abuja-based real estate developer, was recently declared the PDP flagbearer for the upcoming election after running unopposed. Two others with him during the attack were also injured and are being treated.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and the gunmen have not yet been identified. The FCT Police are said to have launched an investigation, although spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh stated, “I am not aware. I have not been informed.”
Party insiders have expressed concern that the incident could disrupt the PDP’s campaign plans, depending on the severity of Ezenwafor’s injuries and how soon he can recover.
