Paul Adefarasin Responds to Viral Video Alleging He Brandished a Firearm

Senior Pastor of House on the Rock, Paul Adefarasin, has broken his silence regarding a viral video showing him allegedly pointing a pistol at a street blogger in Lekki.
On his social media pages, Pastor Adefarasin addressed the incident directly, assuring his followers that the object seen in the video was not a firearm and that he never pointed any weapon at anyone.
He wrote:
“Dear Family,
Trusting this message finds you well and overcoming life’s challenges.
You may have seen a video circulating on social media that some have misunderstood as me brandishing a firearm. I want to assure you that it was definitely not a firearm, and at no point did I point such an object at anyone.
We understand the concerns this accusation may have raised, and I will speak briefly about this matter during the 9:00 am service tomorrow. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Yours truly,
Paul Adefarasin.”
The video, which has sparked debate online, shows Pastor Adefarasin inside his vehicle as a content creator films him.
The pastor appears to reach for an object that some viewers mistook for a gun. The content creator apologizes repeatedly during the encounter.
Reactions online have been mixed, with some defending the pastor’s actions as a security measure, while others criticized the incident as unnecessary, especially given his role as a religious leader.
Pastor Adefarasin’s message aims to clarify the situation and reassure his followers ahead of a fuller address during his church service.
