Patience Ozokwor Breaks Silence on Land Dispute, Accuses Widow and Daughter of Blackmail

Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor has spoken out amid growing controversy surrounding a land dispute involving a widow and her daughter who accused her of seizing their family land due to the absence of a male heir.

In a detailed statement shared on social media, Ozokwor clarified that she legally purchased the land in question 15 years ago, in 2010. According to her, the transaction was initiated by the original landowner herself, who had approached Ozokwor’s agent to help find a buyer.

Trouble began last year when, according to Ozokwor, the same former landowner tried to resell a portion of the land that legally belonged to her. Upon discovering the attempted encroachment, Ozokwor said she acted quickly and fenced the property to protect her investment.

The situation soon escalated when the widow and her daughter took to social media, accusing the actress of dispossessing them of the only land left behind by their late husband and father. Videos of the women in tears went viral, sparking outrage and sympathy online.

But Ozokwor is now pushing back, accusing the pair of engaging in blackmail and using the incident to manipulate public opinion and solicit donations.

“This is blackmail, fraud, and malicious intent,” s “They are using my name to trend and gain pity. I’m shocked by the lies and the level of public deception.”

She also criticized bloggers and social media users for spreading the story without verifying the facts, noting that some had even called her “unprintable names.”

“Social media is not a court,” she continued. “I’m pursuing legal means to clear my name. It took me years to build my reputation, and I won’t let it be destroyed.”

Concluding her statement, Ozokwor warned those involved in the smear campaign to prepare for legal consequences.

“Now I say to you—Meet Me in Court.”

The actress also expressed gratitude to those who reached out in support and promised to allow the law to take its course.
