Patience Jonathan Bags PhD In Psychology, Urges Nigerians To Pursue Education At Any Age

Former First Lady Patience Jonathan has earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Psychology, Guidance and Counselling from Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, using the occasion to inspire Nigerians—especially women and youths—to never give up on their academic aspirations.
Speaking at the university’s 43rd postgraduate convocation ceremony, where she received her doctorate, Mrs. Jonathan emphasized that age should never be a barrier to education.
“I feel that no age is too late to achieve your academic dreams, whether you are young or old. If I can do it, you can also do it,” she said. “Even in retirement, you are not too old to go back to school because education provides the opportunity to refresh your brain and learn new things.”
She dedicated her achievement to Nigerian women and pledged to continue advocating for the upliftment of the vulnerable, especially women, children, and youths.
Expressing gratitude for her academic journey, she said, “I am very grateful to the Almighty God who has made today a reality. He saw me through the programme so I am very happy today. I also thank my family sincerely, especially my lovely husband, His Excellency Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, for all his support and very useful suggestions.”
Mrs. Jonathan also thanked her children and friends for their understanding, love, and encouragement throughout the course of her studies.
