Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has appointed Oluwatosin Adejumo, a young street puff-puff seller, as a chef at the Osun State Government House in Osogbo.

Tribune Online reports that the presentation of Adejumo’s appointment letter on Friday fulfilled an earlier promise made by the governor during a rally in Osogbo. The pledge came as thousands of Osun public servants gathered in an appreciation rally to welcome Governor Adeleke back from a short vacation and commend his support since taking office.

During the rally, Adeleke reportedly bought all of Adejumo’s snacks for N50,000 and offered her employment as a chef at the Government House.

In a video obtained by Tribune Online, the governor, seated in his bus, called out to Adejumo by the roadside and asked the cost of all her snacks. Adejumo, who holds a Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE), was then invited into the vehicle, where the governor inquired about the dishes she could prepare and instructed his aides to take her contact details for employment.
