Osun APC Ticket Not for Sale to Adeleke Family – Timothy Owoeye

Former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Timothy Owoeye, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket is not for sale and will not be handed to any member of the Adeleke family.

Speaking in Osogbo, Owoeye dismissed recent speculations suggesting that Governor Ademola Adeleke or his family members could join the APC ahead of the 2026 governorship election. He emphasized that the party remains focused on internal discipline and merit, not political influence or wealth.

“The APC governorship ticket is not for sale to the Adeleke family, categorically. As of today, we do not see Governor Ademola Adeleke as part of the APC,” Owoeye stated.

His comments came after a recent high-profile visit by Governor Adeleke, his brother Dr. Deji Adeleke, and music star Davido to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos. The visit triggered speculations about a possible defection from the PDP to the APC.

However, the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, dismissed the rumors, describing the meeting as a mere courtesy visit. He reaffirmed Adeleke’s loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Contrary to Owoeye’s position, APC lawmaker and House of Representatives member, Akin Alabi, took a more inclusive stance, saying, “There is space for everyone in our party.” He warned against political gatekeeping and stressed the importance of openness in a democratic system.
