Ondo Police Confirm Death of Murder Suspect in Student Killings Case

The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the death of Femi Oladele, popularly known as Tallex, who was a key suspect in the abduction and murder of two students from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko.
Oladele, who was in police custody, reportedly died after a brief illness. “Yes, he is dead. He had been under medical supervision since his arrest and had been in and out of the hospital. He passed away yesterday (Friday),” said the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Olayinka Ayanlade.
The suspect had been arrested alongside two others in connection with the disappearance and subsequent killing of Andrel Okah and John Abba—both 200-level students of the institution. Okah was a student of the Department of History and International Studies, while Abba studied Economics.
The students were last seen on campus three weeks before their disappearance was officially reported by concerned classmates. Following the report, police launched an investigation which led to the arrest of the three suspects. Notably, Oladele was identified as the landlord of one of the victims.
During interrogation, police said one of the suspects confessed that the students had been murdered and their bodies dumped in different locations across Ekiti State. According to the command, “We have recovered the decomposing body of Okah and are still searching for Abba’s remains.”
A police source revealed that Oladele took ill while in detention. “The suspect (Oladele) was sick in the custody where he was kept by the police. When his health condition was getting worse, he was quickly rushed to the hospital, where he later died.”
The police spokesperson urged the public not to fall for any misinformation about the case. “We urge the public to disregard any attempt to twist the facts. The command remains fully committed to justice. Everyone involved will face the full weight of the law,” Ayanlade stated.
