Oluremi Tinubu Celebrates Super Falcons Historic 10th WAFCON Title

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has joined millions in celebrating the Super Falcons dramatic triumph at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The Nigerian team clinched their 10th continental title on Saturday night after staging a stunning second-half comeback to defeat hosts Morocco 3-2 in a thrilling final at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

The Moroccans had dominated the first half, racing to a 2-0 lead with the support of their energetic home crowd. But the Super Falcons — Africa’s most decorated women’s football team — fought back with determination and experience, netting three goals in the second half to complete a sensational turnaround.

With the victory, Nigeria not only reaffirms its dominance in African women’s football but also accomplishes the Nigerian Football Federation’s “Mission X” — a symbolic reference to their 10th WAFCON title, with “X” representing the Roman numeral for ten.
