Olufemi Soneye Resigns as NNPCL’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer

Olufemi Soneye has officially stepped down from his role as the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
In a statement shared on social media, Soneye expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve, describing his time at NNPCL as an honour. He noted that his decision to resign was driven by the need to focus on personal commitments and spend more time with his family.
“It has been a profound honour to contribute to the transformation of NNPCL,” he said, while thanking his colleagues and the company’s leadership for their support. He also called on the media and stakeholders to continue promoting balanced and constructive reporting on the company’s role in shaping Nigeria’s energy future.
Soneye, a respected international journalist before joining NNPCL in October 2023, affirmed his continued support for the company even as he moves on to the next chapter of his career.
As of the time of this report, NNPCL has not announced a replacement for the position.
