Ola Aina set for new Nottingham Forest deal after breakout season
Super Eagles full-back Ola Aina is set to sign a new contract with Nottingham Forest following an impressive campaign in the Premier League.
Signed on a free transfer, the 28-year-old Nigerian international has become indispensable to Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad, delivering consistency across the backline.
Aina has made 35 appearances in all competitions, contributing two goals and an assist.
Per The Telegraph UK, Forest have triggered an extension clause in his current deal to prevent a summer exit.
The club are already in advanced talks for a fresh long-term contract to secure his services beyond the current extension.
Aina’s performances have been crucial in Forest’s unexpected push for a Champions League berth, as the club eye a return to elite European competition for the first time in decades.
