President-General Calls on Okpuitumo People to Embrace Togetherness

The President General of Okpuitumo Ikwo General Assembly, Rev. Fr. Charles Nweke have called on sons and daughters of Okpuitumo Ikwo to use the ongoing maiden Okpuitumo Ikwo ceremony as an opportunity to learn about togetherness and oneness.
Reverend Nweke made the call in a media Chat with Asiwaju media ahead of the 2024 Maiden Okpuitumo Ikwo Day Celebration which commenced with a prayer session at Iviuakpa Primary School on Sunday.
According to Reverend Father Nweke, “The Okpuitumo Ikwo Day Celebration is a momentous occasion that brings together the sons and daughters of Okpuitumo Agaramugede to appreciate and celebrate their unity and oneness as a people”.
“This year’s celebration is intended to bring all the sons and daughters of Okpuitumo Agaramugede together in thanksgiving to God for the new and greater Okpuitumo Ikwo project, which started to manifest with the coronation of our new Eze, HRH, Eze Ezekiel Obo Oyika (Agaramugede II of Okpuitumo Agaramugede Kingdom), as well as to create in the people the consciousness of our oneness and the need for all of us to work together to achieve the new and greater Okpuitumo Ikwo project.” He added.
The President General commended the community for their achievements, including the peaceful election, coronation, and installation of a new Traditional Ruler for the community after 27 years.
“Notable achievements so far include the peaceful election, coronation, and installation of a new Traditional Ruler for the community after 27 years, as well as the awakening of community consciousness among our people”.
“We have also collaborated with the Ebonyi State Government, through the Ikwo Local Government Chairman, and our Traditional Father to restore peace in every corner of the community that had, hitherto, been troubled by one crisis or the other. Honestly, anyone that knows or comes to Okpuitumo Ikwo today will immediately testify that the community is now relatively peaceful, for which we give glory to God.”
Nweke emphasized the importance of community unity and progress, stating, “The Okpuitumo Ikwo Day Celebration is a people’s event, and its sustainability depends on the collective efforts of the community.”
He urged the community to continue working together to achieve greatness and make their community a shining example for others to follow.
In his words, “As the celebration kicks off, I would like to appreciate all the sons and daughters of Agaramugede for their love and support for our community. I urge everyone to continue making sacrifices for the advancement of the new and greater Okpuitumo Ikwo project”.
“Together, we can achieve greatness and make our community a shining example for others to follow. The times are hard and challenging. Yes! But, do not be discouraged, for, as it is said, where there is the will, there is the way.
“Just sincerely offer your best, however little or great, and leave the rest to God and the Land of Okpuitumo Agaramugede. I assure you, you will surely testify to the greatness of God with this event. And, as you offer your support for this year’s celebration, we pray that the Almighty God and the Land of Okpuitumo Agaramugede will continue to show you mercy, protect you, and bless you richly, in Jesus’ name. Amen!”
