Ogun Police Arrest Man for Alleged Assault, Threatening Resident with Gun

The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended one Oluwatobiloba Kehinde for allegedly assaulting and threatening to shoot a resident of the Agbena area near Ojere, Abeokuta.
Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola, in a statement released on Sunday, confirmed that the arrest took place on Saturday after officers received a distress call from the victim.
According to Odutola, the incident began on Friday around 6:00 p.m., when the complainant was returning from a football field and was confronted by Kehinde, who demanded money and threatened to harm him. Shortly afterward, other gang members arrived on a motorcycle and joined in assaulting the victim.
Odutola further disclosed that the suspect later tracked the complainant to his family house, where he continued issuing threats while armed with a locally made pistol.
“On 28th June 2025, the Ogun State Police Command received a distress call from a male resident of Agbena Area,” the statement read. “The complainant reported that on 27th June 2025, he was accosted by Oluwatobiloba Kehinde, who threatened to deal with him if he refused to give him money. Shockingly, Kehinde later traced him home, armed with a locally made pistol, and continued threatening to shoot him.”
Responding promptly, operatives of the Command arrested the suspect and recovered the firearm.
Odutola added that a preliminary investigation is underway and assured the public that further updates will be provided.
