Odunwa Condemns Gruesome Attack On Ebonyi Community

The Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Moses Ije Odunwa, has strongly condemned the brutal attack on the people of Amagu-Nkalaha in Ishielu Local Government Area of the state.
The attack, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday, resulted in the killing of innocent people, the burning of several houses, and the destruction of properties worth millions of naira
Speaker Odunwa expressed his intense displeasure over the incident, describing it as a tragedy that must not be tolerated. “I received with intense displeasure, the gruesome killings of innocent Ebonyians at Amagu-Nkalaha, in Ishielu Local Government Area of our dear State,” he said.
The Speaker implored security agencies to diligently investigate the attack and bring the perpetrators to justice. “Let me enjoin Security Agencies to remain resolute in diligently fishing out the miscreants,” he added.
Odunwa also consoled the victims and their families, urging them not to engage in retaliatory attacks. “I honor the memories of those who lost their lives, and those whose properties and loved ones were wiped out, I sympathize with you. Let us continue to strive for a better future,” he said.
The Speaker cautioned that the attack should not distract from the state government’s determination to achieve even development in the state. He reiterated the need for peace and progress to reign in the state, and called on the security agencies to guarantee absolute peace and order in the area.
The attack on Amagu-Nkalaha community is the latest in a series of violent incidents in the state, and has raised concerns about the safety and security of lives and properties in the area.
