NYSC Sets August 7 for 2024 Batch B Stream II Passing-Out

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially approved Thursday, August 7, 2025, as the Passing-Out date for members of the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II. This marks the completion of a mandatory one-year national service for thousands of Nigerian graduates across the country.

In a statement issued by the NYSC management, the agency confirmed that Certificates of National Service will be distributed to deserving Corps Members in a decentralised, low-key ceremony at the Local Government level, in line with its established tradition for recent Passing-Out exercises.

As part of the schedule leading to the final day, activities will begin on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, with the sensitisation of Corps Members on job creation and post-service opportunities. These sessions will provide information on entrepreneurship, skill acquisition, digital tools, and available support for young professionals entering the workforce.

The NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Olakunle Akinyemi Nafiu, commended the outgoing Corps Members for their patriotism, resilience, and commitment to national development throughout their service year. He acknowledged their contributions to community development, healthcare outreach, education support, electoral participation, and various nation-building activities in their places of primary assignment.

“Your year of service has been a vital contribution to the nation’s growth. We appreciate your sacrifices and we are confident that you will continue to uphold the values of discipline, unity, and service in your future endeavours,” Nafiu said.

He also encouraged them to explore the knowledge and experiences gained through the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, as they transition into post-service life. He reminded them that the end of service marks the beginning of another phase of responsibility, urging them to be good ambassadors of the Scheme.

With the upcoming Passing-Out Parade, the NYSC maintains its commitment to preparing Nigerian youth for national integration and self-reliance, despite evolving challenges. The Scheme continues to prioritise programmes that support Corps Members in gaining practical skills and connecting them to employment or entrepreneurship pathways.

As the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Corps Members prepare to bow out, NYSC reaffirms its mission to build future leaders through civic engagement, skill development, and national unity.
